Happy Mother's Day!

I think I kept all of my son's drawings
when he was young.
He is now 17 years old,
and he is still fond of drawing, and drawing
and drawing!

I am sooo proud of him!
Yesterday he said that he solved
and he invited me to solve it too!
He said only 2% can solve it
and he is one of the 2%!!!
Well, I did not want to find out
if I was part of the 98% who couldn't!!
And even if I was,
I think mothers always want
their children to turn out better
than them,
in every way!
Not just in solving puzzles!

To be more creative!

To be more loving!

To be more inspiring and encouraging!

To use his gifts and talents more!

To do a good job in whatever he aspires to do!

But most of all,
to be a man after God's own heart!

I'm including this in Venus'

Venus' sister, Luane, also has a giveaway
in time for Mother's Day, too!
This one from Crafter's Reference
ends on May 13, Mother's Day
here in the Philippines.

Paint Party Friday: Believe the works!

I always enjoy coming to a party!
Especially if it has anything to do with paints!

Even if what I'm going to show is half finished!
If this comes out nice enough,
I'm going to add it to a page in my
altered book,
for the class I'm doing with Elizabeth.

I'm reading a book, Swan Thieves
by Elizabeth Kostova.
The main character is a brilliant painter
who needs some psychiatric help.
He tells one of his students,
"Draw everything. Do 100 drawings a day!"
Is that what a takes?

And on my journal this morning,
a verse from John 10:
"Believe the works."

A lot of people did not believe
Jesus was the Son of God.
All His miracles, healing,
good works, teachings
were not enough to convince them!

Some people believe He was
just a good man, a prophet,
BUT HE said He was the Son of God!
He can't be a good man
and then lie about His identity!

WOYWW: Trusting God

My desk is an L-shape.
Two desks jammed together.
With lots of drawers and plastic boxes
stuck underneath.
On the foreground, you can see a pile
of bookpaper that I painted
wall putty on, in preparation
of our next "Crafternoon"
next month.

Monday's journal:
one of my very favorite verses.
"Nothing will be impossible for God."
Luke 1:37

Tuesday's journal:
From John 8:28,
"when you lift up the Son of man,
then you will realize that I AM."

And from today's Journal page:
Daniel 3:28,
"Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach
and Abednego, who sent his angel
to deliver the servants that trusted in Him..."

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego
were thrown into the furnace
after they refused to worship the
statue of Nebuchadnezzar,
the king of almost the entire world.
But when they were inside the
furnace, there was an angel with them,
and they did not get burned or harmed!

Sometimes we find ourselves
in a furnace, a challenging situation.
Do we trust God and believe he is with us?

Paint Party Friday: Stars!

A nice lady emailed me and asked
if I wanted to trade ATCs.
I asked if she had a favorite quote
or bible verse.

Here's her answer:
"When the moon breaks up
and the tide goes out of control,
will you find me in the water
and swim me to the stars..."
I don't think I can fit in the words!
But here it is, Maddy!

 On my journal this morning,
a quote from Psalm 34:
"Many are the troubles of the just,
but the Lord delivers from them all!"

Indeed, if the moon breaks up,
and the tide goes out of control,
I think it is the Lord who will
bring us out of the waters
of trouble,
and swim us to the stars
of victory!

WOYWW: Focus on what is really important!

Oh the woes of a WOYWWer!
:^) This time it is my camera.
So I used my IPOD to take my pictures!
On the right side you will see the
altered book I am working on.
 for her patience!
If you'd like to try making an altered book,
Elizabeth has a tutorial.

Clamping on the pages.
It's not really dirty.
I just thought I'd play with the frames
available on the camera of my Ipod.

Piling up the books!

I put wall putty and am now drying it.

And here on my daily journaling:
a quote from Mike Cherney.
"A gift that LENT offers is the time
to focus on what is really
IMPORTANT.
We need to use this season to
IDENTIFY
what impedes our progress
in the directions
that truly matter."

Paint Party Friday: Listen!

Just a short post today
cause I spent so much time figuring out
what picnik wanted me to do!
I gave up and tried another online editing site- Phixr.
If you find one you like using, please tell me!!!!
Here's my work in progress.
No title yet but something about how
what we are thinking and saying
colors our world.
Right now, in spite of some challenges,
my world is so bright and beautiful!
And on my journal, a verse from Jeremiah7:
"LISTEN to my voice;
then I will be your God and
you shall be my people.
Walk in all the ways that I command you
so that you may prosper."

Isn't it amazing that God wants the best for us
that He left us a whole lot of instructions?
It's a very detailed guidebook on how
we should live our life so that we will
be happy, peaceful and joyful!
He doesn't promise no problems,
but He does promise He will walk with us!

WOYWW: Pass it on!

Whoa! Serious disaster zone!
Caution! caution! Do NOT cross this yellow line!
Work in progress: Bloom!
Another work in progress
(no name yet, because I have
no idea what it will look like in the end!)
I am just making marks on the background.
My dad says if you have an interesting background,
half your painting is made!

I have a new journal and
my pages aren't brown anymore.
Makes a nice change I think!
I bought several little sketch pads,
removed the covers and
sewed it on a piece of leather I cut
from an old dress I found in an ukay ukay
(that's filipino for vintage!)

And here's what's on my journal for today:
a verse from Deuteronomy 4:
"However, take care and be earnestly
on your guard not to forget
the things your own eyes have seen,
nor let them slip from  your memory
as long as you live,
but TEACH THEM TO YOUR CHILDREN
AND YOUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN."

How important it is to pass on to our children
what we have learned!
If we don't, it is like we have a treasure
that we don't share with them,
but just keep to ourselves!
